I read this story because of a sense of curiosity and recognition because I was an EMT from New Jersey who drove up the New Jerssey Turnpike to reapond to those attacks. I did not have to go into NYC but I did see tthe clouds of dust from the Meadowlands parking lot.This is a story about the effects of that day that involved a student; we all remember the victims, the firefighters and police who also perished but many others were also affected by that event. This writer was able to tell his story through the eyes of a student who came too close to losing a parent. My biggest recollection of that day besides the horrific events was seeing a butterfly float through our staging area at the arena. Best of luck for the future and continued writing success.
