This was an enjoyable poem. My thoughts though, is it seems to be a love lost poem. I was expecting it to be a puzzle, something about the choices we make causing a great effect on our view of humanity.
All in all, this is a great poem, and I really enjoyed it.
This is a goods poem, but it seems like it is leading somewhere that is never actually shown. Where have you never been? It seems like a long list of showing accomplishments(not necessarily literal, mostly video game style) and I assume where you have never been is a place indicating failure?
I can also think, that in indicating a friend, you may have recently lost someone? It is very vague, which is great. But sometimes there is a such thing as too much ambiguity.
It looks as if it is incomplete, but it is still a great work.
Forgive me if this is not the most eloquent of reviews, or even if it is even in the ballpark.
So, here's how I figure it, and I separated my opinion into a few groupings.
The first, political.
I see many allusions to how political groups tend to amass large amounts of people on the basis of lies. It would be interesting, but it is a stretch.
My second thought, is the seeming worship of pop culture nowadays. The youth of today are so easily swayed by the words of people practicing the party culture. Most celebrities preach the sex, drugs, party, and money culture. While this is mostly just acting, impressionable, ignorant people are susceptible to falling into the pit of the false prophets. One can blame reality TV, but it isn't simply that. It is the sudden unwillingness to think for yourself. After all, life is much easier with someone telling you how to think.
My final point, is the rock band Kiss. This reminds me of a song called Psycho Circus. Anyway, this is a great piece: ambiguous, dark, and fun!
