I actually consider myself to be an Agnostic Christian. I don't see any evidence for either, but I believe the big guy is up there. I don't know if that's technically possible, but oh well. =)
Oh my God. What a twist! I never expected that. I thought that something would happen involving the police. What really threw me off was all of the stories about Heather being a bad actor. Completely unexpected. Great job!

Woah... MAJOR irony there. I liked the story a lot. I actually thought this would be one of those cautionary tales, you know, of what not to do on the internet, yata yata yata. I never saw the twist coming. Hard to believe that one mistake could cause that. Poor Mr. Anderson. Great job. =)
Woah. This is great. A nice action packed story. I liked the characters. Many stories that I have read, as well as some I've written, I have to admit, have characters that are either good or bad. They have no shades of gray. But your characters, like Adams, are more 'real.' They aren't just good or bad.
I also like the message I'm getting. I don't know if it's the on you wanted me to see, but what I see is this: War is pointless, especially Civil Wars. I agree with this, partly. Civil Wars ARE useless; however, I do feel that some wars are necessary to protect what's good in the world, like WW2.
The irony of Adam's decision shocks me. It's sad that his kindness ended up leading to his demise; his actions won't be known until Mary Ellen makes them known probably years later.
Your descriptions were great; you set the war zone mentality early, allowing me to understand what's happening.
I would like to know MORE though; maybe another story about what happened to the father, or maybe a continuation of this plot. This could easily be a part of a larger novel or novella about Mary Ellen's life during the war.
