As a parent of two daughters who are now 19 and 16. I agree with you. The most important thing that we can do is love our children and love them without conditions. There are many challenges that we will face as they grow. We may never fully understand why they do what they do. But by loving them we will be there when they really need us. It is something that we all need to learn.
Your story shows the great love that this young man has for his Grandfather but also the great conflict of wanting to help him with the pain and suffering. The conflict is between his moral values that he was raised with and the desire to ease his grandfather's suffering. It was well written and really touched my heart for both the young man and his grandfather
