This was a very cute and witty take on a nursery rhyme I have heard many times. I like how the Monkey denies any wrong doing in his pursuit of fun. It only shows how having fun can sometimes lead to trouble. The grandma of the weasel puts all the blame on the Monkey of course. It is amazing how these words, "he was a good boy" pop out of the mouths of people who describe a loved one who did a bad thing. The cobbler is the funniest because he is the most inaccurate. His account of the events only enforce the knowledge that eye witness accounts are very unreliable. The retake to the rhyme does teach a good point, be careful when you play because trouble could happen at any time.
I find poetry hard to review because I lack, what I consider, qualified understanding of the art. However, I found your poem to be beautiful and inspiring with simplistic clarity that truly touched my heart. I can relate the theme of losing a mother, as I lost mine several years ago. Your poem is a sweet endearing tribute to all who have lost mothers. I think it is a wonderful tribute and excellent literary form.
