Having gone through bouts of sadness and depression myself, I can relate to this story on a personal level.
It's so easy to hide how we feel and and its easier for others to judge.
Thank you.
This so my type of poetry. I absolutely love it.
The last couplet is so hopeless and resigned. I have felt that way so many times....

We are all ordinary in the grand scheme of life. And we all feel this poem in some way.
I like that the last line in each stanza is positive
I enjoyed this

Thank you for posting this.
It reminded me of saying goodbye to my older family members and reminded me how much I miss them when I don't see them often.
I particularly like the first stanza. We hardly ever see them age and it is always surprising when we notice the signs.
Do keep writing, I think you have a good thing going here
Being from South Africa I can visualise every bit of this as I used to see it almost every day from the back of our home, except we had a huge jacaranda tree in the garden which added its own beauty to the sunset.
Thank you for sharing and invoking my memories
Reading this felt like looking in a mirror. I guess we all put on faces to conform and confront society's and our people's expectations.
My favourite parts would be the first stanza because that is how we all start our day and the repetition in the last, because it never really ends
