Very good writing. I'm a big fan of well written poetry and this was extremely enjoyable. Even outside the context this is fabulous writing. It makes me want to read more of it. The emotion spoke to me, as if this was someone I knew. Pure poetry, I absolutely loved it.
The pacing and development of this story is good. I'm a big fan of the interaction between Summer and Christine, very good characterization. I am confused, however, as to why Christine's back story was relevant. I mean I can understand it, and it makes some kind of sense, but with her caring about Hakari Prime's people so much, it doesn't fully gel that she was a spun-out addict.
On a technical point, there are times you switch between past and present tense. It's not recommended to do that as it can throw the reader for a loop.
Other than that i enjoyed the story, so don't take the rating too hard.
