Amazing lines,
you know i think everyone has such thoughts from time to time and you put them so wonderfully in a poem. Childhood's memories have a tendency to fade and that's so tough to catch them and make them stay.
I like the words choice and the emotions put in the poem, but i think there should be done something about the rhythm. Though I am not an expert on poetry.
Once I read it I had to reread again but only because it impressed in a very weird way. Bringing out emotions and feelings that are very deep inside. Thats really awesome to write the poem from the point of the storm. You have done amazing work showing the power and will of Katrina, making us realize how small and helpless human beings are when they have to stay face to face to nature.
Well..i liked the idea but somehow you were too short in making it come true.. once you read it you dont understand why these papers are of such importance? what kind of papers they are, how much it means to the main character?? thats why his happiness in the end is not quite understood. And the whole situation also seems a little bit unreal, how come that this Tony Hazier just stole the papers in order to talk about them later? he could as well discuss the whole issue right in the beginning. Anyways thats only my opinion but i liked the idea, may be if you work a little bit more on it it will make the story more exciting :)
