Poetry is a beautiful art and probably the most difficult to master. A lot of writers tend to turn to the darker parts of the human experience for their inspiration and while there work is beautiful it can sometimes leave a slightly bitter after taste. What you have done is fresh and delightful and leaves me feeling like I am on a sugar high. Thank you for your originality. I have a suggestion to make and you are welcome to take it or leave it. Always start your story as close to the conflict as you possibly can and fill in the story as you go along with very short flash back or references to the past in speech. I am assuming more towards teens then children? I did enjoy this piece but it felt a little clumsy when reading it out loud, it did not flow as smoothly as it could have. It is also very important to double check your work for typo's. - By making us reborn as(s) somebody- I am also guilty of being swept away in the moment and posting because I am afraid that I will lose my nerve. A very good start to what I hope will be an inspired future.

What a delightfully dark tale told from the perspective of the toy. I found that your story was not only easy to read but also very pleasing to read. It had a natural rhythm to it without being sing-song. A lovely sting in the tail, though I can't imagine why someone would throw a piece of plastic in their cooking pots. Very well done, I am grateful that my daughter does not own a Mr potato Head

A very interesting piece told in very few words. I often enjoy the shorted pieces because they are not all dressed up, the story is laid out in bare bones. I love the way you do not lean towards the happy ever after ending. A part of me was expecting the quick escape and when I read the ending I immediately reread it.
