Me too! Me too! I have been postponing college Algebra for my entire adult life. Thank you for saying what I am thinking plus feeling, and with a funny twist at the end. Very ironic. I have run out of English classes to take and my family has run out of patience with me. Sigh.

Even though your topic doesn't seem to lend itself to sensory description, maybe including some of the five senses would add punch to the overall feeling of desperation. Sometimes showing can be a lot of fun. (Sleepless nights = how did you eyes look?) Just a thought.

Loved the sentiment and the ending.
