The fragile balance of relationships. |
Fragile Balance She was petite A fragile crystal wine glass He was huge A bull, steam streaming from its nostrils She had a mystique A beautiful landscape though wispy fog He epitomized a deluge A wild stallion thrashing against the restraining ropes She loved his unbroken savagery He loved her solid fragility When he erupted she cried When she sobbed he died So the checks and balances were solidly in place Creating their world in time and in space As time did progress his fierceness did tame Her crystal clear mien did cloud They pondered why it wasn’t the same All around them discontentment howled You haven’t the spirit of the man I adored And you haven’t the mystery that drove me to frustration He killed the internal trappings he thought she abhorred And she mutated to fit his predilection Thunder cracked, winds moaned through sobbing windows Swirling gusts of confusion Silhouetted limbs convulsed against the horizon Earth’s solidity heaved and the bedrock did crack As the realization crept into their collective breast From this place they could not journey back Trading passion for tedious unrest |
