Falling Short

no place to go
no place to hide
the sun is shining a mile wide
as the wind blows
the last leaf falls
returning home as nature calls
rushing waters
running wild
dancing free as a carless child
somber red skies
burning fires
overwhelming heart desires
flowers swaying
rustling leaves
soothing wounds as they bleed
happiness fading
not so real
injured hearts begin to peel
clouded memories
ideas beem
twirling wonder; it's just a dream
