this is a poem i wrote for my grandfather's funeral a month ago. enjoy....
The sun lowers her sleepy head
Into the rolling hills of night.
The stars and moon begin to appear
And the busy world below seems to stop.
Sunset has come to put the sun to rest
Beneath the endless horizon.

Wearing that cloak of crimson and gold,
The cloth of darkest night is laid down.
The birds stop their enchanting song,
The flowers close their delicate petals.
You close your own delicate eyes.
And you sleep in peace for eternity.
