Simple Reflection

My rock and stronghold
Comforting, gentle, protection
Warmth and love
This is my simple reflection

He is always there to lean on
Never to weary to hear
A calming sprit
I can tell he is near

The happiness
Hope rising in my chest
Inexpressible joy
You will never need rest

Never to leave me alone
So close and never far
Who knew he once walked this land?
But died a martyr

His love has saved my life
The least I can do
Is live for him
Like the disciples he knew

John, Judas, nor even Peter
Knew of his never ending love
They each denounced him
When a push came to a shove

In my Jesus
I will stand firm
With his help
I can learn
