A Lilbonelle - prompt "Wistful" |
| A Lilibonelle poem (entry #53 page three of "Poetry Forms" ) written for "Invalid Item" contest. I thought I smelled your cologne Wafting from our bedroom. But, of course, it was only Imagination and wishful thinking. Wafting from our bedroom, Memories of laughter call me Back to when they were real. I stand at memory's threshold and listen. But, of course, it was only The sound of our children Throwing snowballs at the dog. You taught them that. Imagination and wishful thinking That's all it is. Always there Waiting to freeze me to the spot, Hoping you will waft in too, but... I stand above a pine box, in the snow, missing you. |
