Neverending Love

once upon a time
there was this girl
lived her whole life
her head in a whirl

then one day
she met this guy
an angel from
the clear blue sky

they fell in love
their lives were perfect
she thought that nothing
could ever destroy it

down the road
when school had ended
he told her his plans
her smile she pretended

he was joining the service
becoming a doctor
he was going away
but he still loved her

she watched him leave
with a tear in her eye
he walked away
as she waved goodbye

but before he left
she vowed to stay
faithful to him
while he was away

to send him letters
each and everyday
until the day
he came home to stay

as he was leaving
he looked to the sky above
he thanked the lord
for the girl he loved

he promised to love
until his life came to an end
she was his angel
that the heavens did send

when he returned
he held her tight
and he gently
kissed her lips goodnight

they lived their lives together
both happier than the sweetest thing
two people ment for each other
who could make it through anything
