Just a tiny seed, dropped in fertile ground
took hold in my heart, made love grow.
So small in the beginning, I barely noticed
when the roots dug deep, mixed with longing,
watered with happy tears, patted with tenderness.
This seed, the origin of my happiness, my joy,
the beginning of a life unsought but precious,
was so small I caught not a glimpse when you let it fall
from your hand to grab the tendrils of my heart strings.
What is a seed? It's not a germ, not a parasite.
It's a new life that intertwined in such a way
that I can't untangle your roots from mine.
And why would I want to do that?
Just a tiny seed but, oh, the world to me!
I shall never hunger again.
