The little horse wasn't so little! |
| THE LITTLE ROAN September 18, 2006 The little roan folded her knees, and, unfolding, flew across the clover patch and when she raised her head in song I heard the words she said. I watched her follow nodding bowers blowing in the breeze and put her muzzle in the undulating sea of stems to graze up to her knees. And when the little beast rolled the clouds up with her hooves I watched her kick and scratch her neck upon the rusty dirt. Once, standing, she shook her mane against the skies, then the little horse hung her head over the fence so I could gaze into her eyes. |
