"Goddamn, Steve! How many times did I tell him not to take that second bottle of tequila? I mean what the hell, you know? Hey watch it pip squeak, I'm walking here! Yeah, walk right through me, why don't you? Make a dead guy feel even worse, eh?"

"Ooh."

"Ooh to you too, kid. Now get out of my way and stop staring. A bat's bound to fly into your mouth in a sec."

"You're bleeding all over the place. Cool!"

"Yeah, yeah...huh? Wait a sec. You can see me?!"

"Duh. Is it real?"

"Hey, no touchy the wounds, okay? I might be dead, but they still hurt like a bitch. Of course if I find Steve, I'm going to kick his ass -"

"Who's Steve?"

"The idiot that got me killed. See we were going to this party...well actually we were coming from this party and then he decided that it wouldn't hurt to take a couple of shots, you know? Damn it all. I should have gone with Sean. Why am I telling you this anyway? And just who are you supposed to be?"

"Voldemort!"

"Volde whowhich?"

"Voldemort from Harry Potter. He's the evil bad guy."

"Yeah, that would explain your bald head. Nice costume."

"Thanks, Dead Mister. Wanna go trick or treating with me?"

"Nah. I think I'll pass. It's bad enough I've been condemned to eternal-roaming-around-earth until God knows when. I don't think I want to add to my punishment by trick or treating with a bad guy wannabe."

"Do you hate Halloween?"

"No, but trust me, I hate it now."

"I used to like Halloween..."

"Used?"

"I mean, I still like Halloween! It's the best time of the year!"

"Yeah, so how come your bag hasn't been filled up yet? And why aren't you with your friends?"

"No one likes going with me..."

"Ah. Well...you don't want to hang around a guy like me even though you can see me. Go have fun, okay? Now run along."

"But..."

"But what?"

"You're going to be lonely, right?"

"Huh?"

"It can't be fun walking around on your own all night. So come with me, pretty please?"

"Listen, kid...hey! Stop tugging me...whoa, hold up. Who's that?"

"My mom."

"Your mom? Why's she crying and placing flowers on a...wait a minute...you're...you can't be...!"

"Mmm hmm! I'm just like you, Dead Mister. A drunk guy was driving and bumped into me two years ago on this night."

"I'm...I'm really sorry..."

"It's okay. I'm happy now because I have someone to trick or treat with me. It's been so lonely all this time."

"Ah geez. I guess it couldn't hurt...just this one time."

"Yay!"

"You do know that no one else can see us, right? This is going to be pointless."

"Oh, not really. Hehe, you'd be surprised by how many of the living can see us on a night like this, mister."
