Strength

Wind can not move me
For I am strong enough to stand up against it
Water cannot drown me
Because it can not keep me down within it
Words give me strength whether I hear them or read them
They can damage me just the same
So next time you think about telling me something
Run it over in your head before it runs through my veins
I am strong

Before you decide to test me bless me
And know that I am not pompous when I say,
That I will not be defeated by those who stress me
Not a minute of any hour of any day!
Most people say I need to calm down a little
They say I don’t stand a chance against the whole world
They say I’ll become a grain of salt inside a skittle
Causing society to be bitter towards the boys and girls
I am strong

I will not allow weakness to become a thought of my imagination
I will not submit to anything that does not have authority to earn it
I have power to control any of my infatuations
I see my mistakes, find the resolution, and learn it
Everyday I realize
Everyday I grow
Everyday I awake
Everyday I know
I am strong because of God’s Love.
