the long road

The Long Road

Here I am sitting with my family,
the family I love,
the family that is my life,
but I have to face this road alone,
this path no-one can follow.
This is that road so many face and are very scared.
I will not be scared.
I will stand strong
in the face of what ever is waiting for me
at the end.

As I turn back,
I can see my family in the distance,
and they are getting further away.
I start to get sad and upset
with the thought I will never see them again.

Will they remember me?
Will they cope with me not there?
Who will care for them?
Who will protect them,
as all I can do is watch over them in their hour of need.

Love is our strongest emotion.
It can overcome all of our troubles.
Be thankful for the time you have with your family and loved ones.

I face this path alone but I am not alone.
I will never be alone
because I have my family who love me
and I love them.
With this I walk down my path of life,
not alone,
not sad,
not upset,
but happy and content
as I have lived my life the way I wanted to.
