LOVE IS A WHITETAILED DEER

Love is a whitetailed deer, graceful and free.
She lets you get close and is beautiful to see.
From a wistful soul, your heart does expound,
She melts into the forest, making not a sound.

Chasing is folly, only for desperate fools,
Love can't be caught, just obey the rules.
Simply be yourself, fate forever comes to you,
When you least expect, it's effortless and true.

The bond grows ever stronger year after year.
Suddenly you know deep in your heart,
She meant every word, "till death do us part".

You tell the same jokes, your stories such a bore.
She never tires, though friends rush the door.
Someday you'll wake in the sunset of your life,
Beside your biggest fan, your best friend and wife.

You'll leave this world, spirit weightless and free,
And tell the same stories to angels till they flee,
But she'll be there to join you in the blink of an eye,
