Prowl of the Lioness A lone deer stands On the edge of, Harsh desert plains. The journey across Long, Can one pass? He hears the roar Echoing throughout the plain. With fear and trembling, He takes his first Step, Out of security. Not a tree in sight. Death, everywhere around him, Enveloped in expectation, In fear of Pain. A misunderstanding? Slowly, walk through time. Looking back for trouble. Shadows of clouds closer, Fear taking hold, Faster. Behind given too much thought. The unknown to great to bear. The known not enough To comfort a lost soul. Then from nowhere, Chase Lioness against deer. Race against the best. The lone deer stands no Chance, but lioness pauses, A false pretence. Danger Still close at hand. Deer is tired now. Thinking dangers have passed Rests his head, his Mind wanders, shadows Close in, Lioness is Prowling Pounce, deer and lion, Trade blow for blow. Will deer escape now, Or doomed fate of, Dinner For lioness Out done, edge of life But to his aid comes, A friend from afar. Together they fight, Escape. Lioness alone. Deer is safe now. Crimson fields behind, And clear skies ahead. But still forever, Lioness, Attacks in spirit. |
