THREE DAYS FOUND

The City Animal Shelter has a three day hold, then kill policy. They do not check tags.

Misplaced love,
they do roam.
Scared and lost
wanting home.

Caring servants
at the pound.
One by one
animals found.

Bits of love
in a cage.
Some are smart,
some with rage.

This job is hard,
it's not fun.
It now sets hearts
on the run.

Large and small,
many are cute.
Some even wear
a colored suit.

Love these animals,
treat them well.
If you do,
time will tell.

At home
there owners do cry.
Over and over
asking why?

Please dear LORD
send them back.
A broken heart
now does lack.

In this city,
a policy wrong.
Three days found,
then forever gone.
