The nursery rhyme just got it so wrong |
| Mary had a lazy lamb, Its fleece was kind of grey, And each time Mary left the house, The lamb was sure to stay. Now Mary loved her lazy lamb, And fed him jam and honey, But then one day poor Mary found, He’d run off with all her money. Poor Mary ran out of the house Calling lambie’s name, But lamb was long gone with her cash. It seems lambs have no shame! Now Mary she searched high and low For lamb and what he’d taken, But he was nowhere to be found, Poor Mary he’d forsaken. She hurried to the betting shop (where he often liked to go), But no grey lamb she found within, Just ones with fleece like snow. She wandered home with heavy heart, The lamb had really screwed her: Not only was her money gone… She’d lost tomorrow’s dinner! |
