How we may or not leave a mark from something said or did to another

Skidding With No Marks

I was driving on this black top
down a country road
I noticed all the skid marks
with stories left untold

Some of the curves had markers
I guess they just weren't seen
Or maybe the driver was busy
his vision not too keen

Or maybe some distraction
took his thoughts to other things
With not a thought or focus
Consequences some times brings

For the lucky ones they snap back
in time to get it straight
For others they may keep on going
right to the pearly gate

Have you ever had this happen?
Did the adrenalin start to run?
Your heart was beating so fast
your chest felt like a ton

I use this theory in all
I do when dealing with my lifeI
try not to leave those skid marks
to others I caused strife

For those who felt I did them wrong
I hope the mark was light
I hope it fades like some on the roads
Our relationship still is bright

For those I might have offended
and the skid is oh so dark
I ask you to forgive me
No skidding, just in parkI
