My Rescuer

Through love I learned to live.

I once was adrift
In a sea of sheer confusion.
My hope for a resuce
I feared was a mere illusion.
You then entered my life,
And I needed to dream no more.
You picked me up
And set my feet upon the shore.
I loved you from that moment
And knew you felt the same.
Your love for me shined through
When you simply called my name.
I found a strength I'd never known
When we took our solemn oath.
There was a power found within
When we became betrothed.
In your love I found the courage
To battle any storm.
No longer should I fear
Evilness in any phantom form.
You offered me your cloak
To shield me from the rain.
You offered me your comfort
To ease all of my pain.
You are with me always now
Even when we apart.
Through the love that God has given
You are always in my heart.
When thunder seems to beckon
And causes my heart to sway,
I simply grasp your hand
And find strength to face the day.
