A poem about saying goodbye to my boyfriend before he went away to university.

We drove home in your car that night
the city lights winked at us playfully
in our silence
so many words were spoken
Your hand cradling mine
you looked at me and smiled
the sadness in our eyes
identical
your hand on my cheek
my chin on your shoulder
our aching hearts whispering
I love you.
