God is love and love never fails. |
1 Cor. 13:8 KJV says that love never fails. This is a powerful statement, especially if you know that God is love. This lets you know that God never fails. How awesome is that? God cannot do the very thing that we as Christians do on a regular basis. We fail tests, we fail to meet our obligations, and we fail to recognize God as often as we should. Just this sentence alone is enough to make someone truly trust in God. This scripture goes on to talk about prophecies failing and tongues ceasing. This is so true. We sometimes put so much stock in what people say instead of listening to God. What if God put a halt to prophecies today? Where would some of us be? We are so used to listening to and believing everything that man says, but we want to question everything that God says. This is not how God intended for things to be. He did not design prophecies to take the place of listening for his words; allowing him to speak and minister to us in our quiet time. I wonder what would happen if we listened to God like we listen to man, if we trusted God like we trust man? We would truly be vessels that God could use to help build his kingdom. 1 Cor. 13:10 KJV also gives us something to look forward to. When that which is perfect has come (Jesus), everything which is in part will be done away. When the perfect lamb of God has come, we will truly be made whole. Everything that was broken in our lives will be fixed. This verse can be applied to Jesus’ return, but it also pertains to right now. When Jesus enters the scene, he is able to restore and heal completely. Jesus has the power to fix that which has been deemed unfixable. Why? Because love never fails. Jesus never fails. All we have to do is trust and believe. The word of God says to ask and you shall receive. No matter what the circumstances, no matter how hard the situation seems, it is not a problem for God. Your finances can be restored, your health can be restored, your marriage can be restored. There’s nothing too hard for God. There is nothing that he can’t fix. It’s up to us to believe God, listen to him and move when prompted. |
