Is this a blessing
the touch of his hands
the joy in our laughing
and the sound of the band
or is it a curse
in this musical trance
is it all going to burst
at the end of the dance

Does it get any better
while we move with the sound
in heaven together
alone in the crowd
Can it get any worse
when he’s still in my head
and I’m falling face first
through the words that he said

Will it go on forever
will we crash back to earth
a forbidden lover -
reality hurts!
Is it over tonight
as the music dies out
can we dance through our plight
or will we give in to doubt

Does it come with the darkness
and hide in the shadow
keep hidden our promise
deny all that we know
Does it bring out the light
that I see in his eyes
it all feels so right
but it’s a bundle of lies

It’s a stairway to heaven
I’m floating away
we’re dancing forever
hear the music and sway
or is it a subway
going down to the pits
on a track for disaster
