Blaze comes, drops his
nose on my knee, my
elbow, my ears, and
gives me a good sniff
all over. Then he moves
away, leaving me to the
sensations he created and
I want to get up and put my
hooves where his hooves are
and taste the earth with my
frogs and smell the grass as
groceries and feel it as my
whiskers brush each blade
just as the little colt does. Just
as the wind blows through
his mane, and the sun rises
above his withers.
