An Independence Day Prayer for Earth

O Lord of all creation,
I ask this favor of you
Please let the joy of freedom
Be experienced by the entire world.

O Lord of all creation,
I watch the night sky blossom
Red, white, blue, and green
Flowers ignited by freedom’s desire
Decorate America’s firmament.

O Lord of all creation,
Forgive our sins of fear,
Which raise xenophobia’s demons
And separate humanity
Into sects and gangs and blood.

O Lord of all creation,
I thank you for the blessing
Of birth in this age
When the freedom’s fires
Is spreading across the Earth.
