'Check carefully beneath the bed........' |
| As children my sisters and I would frighten one another with tales of the bogeyman! The Bogeyman So not to put his prey to flight slowly, with stealth he walks the night. Sheathed in black from head to toe. Heaven help his foolish foe. Don't look behind you lest you find you are the one he has in mind. Hasten home and close the door, slam the bolt shut, hear him roar. Or, is it just our hearts we hear pulsating with our childish fear of the unknown bogeyman, here to catch us if he can. Check carefully beneath the bed then on the pillow lay your head. Try to sleep to no avail waiting for his eerie wail. At last tired eyes can't stay awake and quaking limbs now cease to shake. Sleep steals o'er the childish heart, makes the bogeyman depart.
