The Final 'R'

The ozone layer gapes and stares,
Do planet Earth's inhabitants ever care?
That because of them life on earth is dying:
Aerosols; fossil fuels; international flying.

As the media spew out irrelevant revelations,
Like hypocrites they blame their own creations.
Arguing whether to 'start this' or 'stop that',
Nothing but words: emotionless and flat.

As lakes are poisoned, sea levels rise,
Acid rain and global warming become mutual allies.
Whilst alarms are silenced hysteria is controlled,
The situation becomes incurable: a common cold.

Two degrees later 2050 arrives with our debt,
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. You can forget.
Accept the Final 'R'. RESET.
