The departed spirits visit us on this day.
HALLOWEEN: a sonnet (Editor’s choice)

Our dearest ones are all departed now.
Their memory lingers yet in the heart.
They gave us all their best but we somehow,
Have yet to return their love on our part.

How much we wish they were with us again,
So that once more the olden days are back.
We remember times of pleasure and pain.
Their company throughout the life we lack.

As if truly in answer to our wish,
Those who have left us come back on this day.
Halloween is the day when in impish
Manner the spirits come to us and say:

Don’t think we are impotent and dead yet.
We do tricks so you may not us forget.
