Don't know what to choose anymore

Two separate paths
One to lead home
One to lead to the unknown
Don’t know which to choose
Don’t know how much there is to lose

Is there anything to even lose anymore
All that was had
Long gone
Like some distant dream
Slowly fading from memory
In the days first waking moments

Do you turn back
Run to what you know
Or keep going through the fear

Why does the unknown always scare us so
Why do we fear every day
Or even fear the light
That right now just seems to bright

Confusion setting in
Life uncontrolled
Wishing for one thing
Wanting the other
Truly wanting nothing
But peace
Quiet
To learn myself again
To know who I am
To be who I am
To be who I need to be
Why does it just feel no one will let me be?
