Holiday Rhyme Contest (36 lines) A boy wishes for snow and learns a lesson
Snowmen and Sunshine

How I wish it would snow.
Do you think I could ask Santa?
There's plenty of snow where Santa Claus lives,
He could bring some to Alabama.

If it snowed, I'd make a snowman,
Throw snowballs with my brother,
slide down hills on flat box lids,
and make snow angels with my mother.

But all we get here is sunshine.
If its icy, everyone worries
But it can't be a perfect Christmas Day
If the sky isn't full of flurries

I know, maybe I'll ask God
'cause He controls the weather.
Surely He will bring me snow
to make my Christmas better.

While sitting with my family
I read the story of Christ
And just like in Alabama
The desert had no snow or ice.

And wasn't His birth the reason
We celebrate Christmas today?
Well, if sunshine was good for Jesus
then who am I to complain.

Christmas morning, I woke with excitement
And ran down the stairs to the tree
As I opened my gifts from Santa Claus
I heard my big brother scream

Hey Jack, I think you got your wish
There's a snowman in our front yard
With a grin on his face, he pointed outside
At an inflatable Frosty by the car

You silly goose, you got it all wrong
That wasn't my wish, you see.
You can keep the cold noses, wet shoes and cold toes
'Cause sunshine is just fine with me.
