Scott Rylan: defined for Sara Jean's reference to assist with our project. |
Name: Scott Rylan Age: 27 Hair: Black Eyes: Grey/Blue Height: 6' 1" Weight: 180 lbs At the age of seventeen Scott Rylan was drafted, as were most of the United States young men and women, into the armed forces. An average student, Scott found his niche as a soldier in the United States Marines, eventually earning his place with the Navy SEALs. However, as the war began to drag on and the cities burned, Scott lost his faith in the United States. Abandoning his unit, he became a drifter, turning from the western coast to the deserts of Nevada in order to survive. With so many dead, and resources so scarce, Scott continues to move in the hopes that one day he will find a community where the people there are neither frantic, frightened, or helpless against the large bands of raiders and pirates that have sprung up. When pressed Scott proves assertive and capable, providing the decisive leadership and confidence that natural leaders rely so heavily on. He is, however, remarkably withdrawn. He has experienced the worst that humanity has to offer, and he has seen wonderful people tragically lost to either their own inability to make life-saving decisions or the terrible malice of others. As a result, he has little care to play an active part in any group's fate. Refugees are treated with the same, disconnected respect and consideration that he shows pirates that he crosses. This general defense mechanism, his need to withdraw and sustain in order to survive and adapt, is frequently misinterpreted as apathy and calloused disconcern. |
