This isn't what I expected from my President. Prompt: something unexpected in my backyard.

This Is Not What I Expected

I wandered to the back of the house
To get out the green lounge chair.
I was taken by complete surprise
At the sight that I saw there.

The President was in my yard
Wearing dirty, grubby jeans.
I scratched my head in astonishment;
"I wonder what this means!"

I looked at the garden by the fence.
I admit I almost peed.
I saw his dirty fingernails;
"He's pulled up every weed!"

I pinched my arm to wake myself,
Then yelled out to my spouse.
"Honey, come and look at this,
He's painted our peeling house!"

The lounge I had come out to get
Was already sitting there.
He motioned for me to sit in it;
"There's lemonade beside my chair!"

I asked how much all this would cost
As he tended a family pig roast.
"Nothing, making citizens happy is
The job I like the most!"
