Spring Healing

Describes the onset of Spring in terms which reveal the season't healing potential.

A trickle of water bubbles up from the recesses of the earth,
enters the freedom of the cool, bracing springtime air,
and surrenders joyously to the summons of gravity.
It races downhill, drawn by another fresh rivulet.
The brothers join, increasing one another.
Together they plummet over rocks,
conquer obstacles, and swell
in a healing stream.

Encountering a level place, the river empties its burden
into a tranquil lake where fish and water lilies thrive.
All who drink of this holy pool grow strong,
and learn to laugh again. All living things
join in the quickening of life;
the resurgence of hope,
in Spring.
