Poem involving sounds and life stages... contest entry |
| Sounds speak to my soul As I pass into this life Waiting for the whisper As arms reach out to me The murmur of my mother's voice Giving me assurance Kindergarten starts today The babble overwhelms Applause swells across the stage When they call my name Graduation Day arrives To Pomp and Circumstance The brush of his hand As he wipes away the tears Walking down the aisle My father's love expressed Howling with the life I gave A sigh against my cheek When I hold my son at last A joyous sound explodes Now I hear the rasping As my final breathe exhales Sounds have filled my life I give them now to you 24 lines |
