a poem of remembrance |
When the rising sun reveals its grace And the world is enshrouded by its heavenly embrace When the curtain of darkness is replaced by day Then the silent soul inwardly says "I think of you" When the glorious light falls on the slumbering face And the ants arise to work and play When the lonely halls fill with hi and hey Then the melancholic mind cries in vain "I think of you" When the worries of life rule the day And the people immerse in sorrow and pain When joyous laughter arises from the foray Then the throbbing heart erupts with pain "I think of you" When the call of My Lord brings work to a stay And the creation indulges in worship and pray When the laughter and sound begins to fade Then the tear-streaked eyes wordlessly state "I think of you" When darkness envelops the glowing sun And the world retires after work well done When the stillness of the night over powers the day Then the broken girl wistfully says "I think of you" When loneliness invades the peaceful sleep And the empty heart begins to weep When the distressed mind shuns dreams away Then the sleep-deprived body angrily complains "I think of you" When every gaze is met with black And the adamant will begins to crack When the thirst for light becomes a crave Then the lifeless corpse begins to quake "I think of you" When the white of the eye turns to blood And the scornful rain turns soil to mud When the final star vanishes away Then the final tear also fades Still...I think of you. Dedicated to my dad. May his soul rest in the highest heavens. I will always remember you. |
