The Plan

Feelings ! It's all written in "The Plan".

          The Plan

If feelings were a Hat, you could hang them on a rack
Warm and Safe, all tucked away, until you want them back

If feelings were a Shirt, it would have to be long sleeved
for all the times we've spilled our Hearts, to the ones who shouldn't See

If feelings were a pair of Jeans, we wear most every day
with holes and stitches, just like that dream, which sometimes fades away

If feelings were a belt, which wrapped around our waist
to tighten-up the pain we've felt, until it has no taste

If feelings were a pair of socks, stockings, or warm mitts
to cover Hearts made from Rocks, when reflections never seem to quit

If feelings were a pair of shoes, of leather finely tanned
they'll help us on our path we choose, for it's written in "The Plan"
