A new day begun...
stripped clean of all my miseries
cleansed by the tide of forgiveness
overcome by strength

Yes! A new day begun...
bringing joys of forgotten pleasures
dreamt of in the yesterdays of long ago
forced to be buried in desperate sorrows

A new day is what I seek
happiness returns in streams of prosperity
giving new sight to the things I see
cherishing my hard won victory

I've slain my dragons and slain them well
I've cast them aside with no regrets
It was not easy, but still I prayed
I grew in strength and confidence

I've made my peace and set my demons free
now my life has meaning and integrity
I'm bound by God's generosity
living my life in his grace
thanking him for a brand new day
