Prologue The night was silent as Pete and his squad floated over the water toward the dock. The only sound he heard was that of the crickets. Exhausted he pulled himself out of the boat and onto the docks. He held up his LS-54 and secured the area as the sixteen other Confederates climbed onto the docks. There was a gunman in the tower who by the sound of things hadn’t spotted them yet. Pete aimed the LS-54 at the gunmen. When the laser was on him he pulled the trigger and he died instantly. No blood, no wounds, just died. Breathing hard but trying not to look like he was nervous Pete ordered his squad forward. The gunmen held the pistol waiting for a reply from the Confederate States government. Herman was quickly cutting the rope. Pete almost made it through the doorway when the gunmen slammed the door in his face. “I told you not to try anything!” He roared. “Now you’re going to pay.” The gunmen swung around and aimed his pistol at Amy’s head. Herman finally cut the rope then rushed forward to take the bullet. The memories flooded through his head……… |
