As the ocean’s waves relentlessly attempted to pull me under, time continued to sing death’s song. “Give yourself to me,” I heard her sing. Her melody promised rest for my burdened body. As my mind continued struggling to find a reason not to hear, a ship appeared on the horizon promising safety aboard her deck.
