I couldn't stop.
He was the King of Aces, and I played my heart too soon in the game. Good girl outsides and bad girl insides had no affect on him. Quirky little habits were seen as an annoyance. Getting close to the King was a good arms length away. Everything was on a need to know basis, and nothing was any of my business. He hated crowds and I fed off of them. Friends said I could do better, I knew I could. But he was him. He was the King, and when you have royalty, you don't let go without a fight. Not a day went by that I didn't think about what would've happened. Today, tomorrow, next week, next year. Today was for him, tomorrow for me. Tomorrow never got here.
