a poem about childhood
Honeysuckle

I rip at blossoms.
Shredded petals fall
To hot grass,
Tongue flicks
Pistils. Soiled dress
Brushes against
Scabbed knees. I fight
Away mosquitoes
For one tiny drop-
A small taste
Wetting pink lips.
