Neha lost hopes of winning the case.

Her husband, and mother-in-law cooked up false allegations, and their lawyer cunningly doctored the witnesses.

She wanted a divorce. Unable to face domestic violence from her sly and greedy in-law, and the cruel sadism of her life-partner, she went knocking on the door of justice.

A close friend arranged a lawyer, who so far was not able to convince the judge, and jury that it would be injurious for Neha, to stay married any longer.

She sat in the courtroom with her head bowed in resignation. Let fate take its course.

The proceedings began.

“ Your honor! This woman brought legal proceedings against a man, who according to his friends, is kind and honest. As the testified versions of the witnesses prove, she has no case at all. I therefore request you to punish her duly for by pressing charges against him, and thus damaging his good reputation”

“I object Your Honor” said a deep baritone. Neha startled. No, that’s not her lawyer.

She looked up and found a tall, handsome man in the black coat, making his point.

“We haven’t gone through all the witnesses yet. There are few more witnesses.”

Oh God! That’s Atticus Finch! The famous lawyer! He was the man for the social underdog, the model lawyer. His integrity is world-famous.

“Your Honor! May I produce my witnesses, Sir?” Atticus, polite as ever.

“ Permission granted.”

Atticus led a small girl of 5, and a boy of 11, into the witness’s box, which just about reached the girl’s chin. Neha’s neighbor’s kids!

They unveiled everything.  The kids hated the man and his mother for beating Neha.

Audience murmured in disbelief.

Atticus won the case with great ease and facility.
