Like a Supernova

A romantic poem about someone who illuminated my life

When my world was pitch black,
when my heart was filled with a pall of gloom,
I turned around to find ghastly darkness at my back,
and then the Church bells began to ring with a boom.

As if God had responded to my prayer,
you stepped into my life,
a thing which happened in my life rare,
coz you wanted me to be your wife.

Like a Supernova you shone in my life,
you brought me out of my plight,
your luminescence cut across the sky of darkness like a knife,
your adorable ways added to my delight.

I am happy that I love you,
your love is all to me,
let our love be forever true,
and from all sorts of barriers let it be free.

You are like a ray of hope
in my life of darkness
Without you I mope
You, the only brightness.

I would put your name on a golden star,
so that all can see,
from near and far,
how much you mean to me.
